Tomorrow is Rare Disease Day 2024, which falls on 29 February as 2024 is a leap year.
Rare Disease UK, is a campaign managed by Genetic Alliance UK, and this year they are highlighting that although rare conditions are individually rare, they are collectively common.
Rare diseases include rare cancers such as childhood cancers and some other well known conditions, such as cystic fibrosis and Huntington’s disease.
In the North West, we are supporting Rare Disease Day across a vareity of activities; face to face engagement at Alder Hey Hospital, launching the next episode of our Genomics Matters podcasts, on the topic of health ethics and equality, as well as sharing key messages across social media.
Genetic Alliance UK are excited to be hosting the annual Rare Disease Day Parliamentary Reception in Westminster! Rare Disease Day is an annual international day aimed at raising awareness and highlighting the needs of people with rare conditions.
